Fun Facts

I am a lot of things including an adventuress, a mom, a writer, active person, but mostly im so passionate about living life

At 21, I quit my reputable London corporate job at Harrods in Knightsbridge and "shoe stringed" it around the world for 3 1/2 years literally living on a dime with my back pack!

Ive written two books about crayzee inconceivable adventures Ive had:

  1. A life threatening, hellish, stimulating motorcycle trip at age 43 I did in India for 3 months on a Royal Enfield machismo bullet

  2. A very wild trip canoeing down the Yukon river with bear, moose and a log jam encounter

Yes I looking for a publisher!

“Life is good” won't just be on your t-shirt – it will be in your heart" ❤️

I have more pictures of my dog, Rica, on my cell phone than of my daughter!

Although I am a foodie, I viciously dislike rice pudding! Yuck!

I plan on taking a year off to follow the spine of the Andes south and plant trees on the way.

I’m frequently

asked how I got into my career of choice. My story could be a soap opera! Born into a lower class British household with snooty upper class stigmas my "PG13" version of my "about story"  is that it was an unconventional rocky upbringing. There was alcoholism, abuse, prescription drug addictions in my family. I grew up thinking I was stupid, filthy and a nuisance. Life has been an uphill struggle that I'd like to imagine would be like climbing Mt Everest without Oxygen - it was an endless grind. I knew I was physically and emotionally "full of shit' (excuse my pun intended) because of my relentless dysfunctional relationships and a lot of internal and emotional scars that would continue to surface.  You may not care less but.....

Geez, lets be honest! My health sucked, I had no idea how to eat and I wanted to go to the bathroom and not come out with blood on my toilet paper from straining.  My journey (or escape) took me around the world and back a few times.  My hunger to learn was insatiable. I had funked out academically at school but became a student of life successfully.

A very brief synopsis of my travels:

Ive visited, traveled through, been a student and worked in many countries absorbing the cultures and often subtle aspects of a community one only appreciates when fully connecting with the people.

Ive completed the entire infamous ‘Chillcoot trail” from Seattle, up through the NW passage to Skagway Ak, hiking over the Pass to Whitehorse and canoeing the Yukon river to Dawson city.

Ive been chased up impossibly steep hills by angry bulls and cows while trekking in Parque Nationanal Huascaran Peru with a heavy back pack on my back!

I’ve Bungee jumped twice - in Australia and New Zealand

Ive worked on a boat for a “Pearl farm” 150 miles out to sea off Broome, Western Australia for 4 months as cook for 18 crew. We were located close by the Montebello islands. Yes I got a pearl.

I got a winter seasonal job as a nanny in a posh ski resort for a very well to do family and I didn’t know how to change a diaper!

I hiked and canoed through virgin Malaysian rain forest and camped in a hut only to be stampeded by huge insects and a ravenous rat who ate our only bag of food.

Ive prayed along side Buddhist monks in silent temples in far off places then danced wildly at Hindu weddings in packed out towns.

Ive been soaked to the skin for 14 days on an canoe expedition down the Nahanni River in the Yukon. We capsized while running a canyon stretch but survived to tell the tale.
